Pricing

I hate it when I visit a website and I don't get the information I am looking for! So I hate to do this, but you really would be best served by contacting me for a custom quote. Commercial photography is such a broad category that it really is difficult to provide a dollar figure without first establishing what is needed.  In view of this, I have created some packages (outlined below)that may suit your needs, otherwise, I will do my best to give you an idea of what to expect:
  • Commercial photography is traditionally quoted based on a day rate + image licensing. What is that? Day rate is the cost of the time needed to make the images.  Image licensing is a little more complex.  It depends on: number of images, where they will be used (both what media and where in the world - not a concern if you are a plumber in a small town, but maybe of concern if you own a bed and breakfast in a popular tourist destination), and for how long - is it a sales campaign for a new development and will wrap up in a couple months?  Or will it be basis for your company image for years to come?  Its only fair to you that the cost is directly tied to how much use you get out of the photography.  This all impacts the cost of licensing.
  • There may be additional costs associated with your particular needs - for example hiring of models, renting of costumes, equipment and vehicles if needed.  Usually not the case with small businesses, but if your vision calls for it, it has to be taken into account.
  • I will try to provide some package deals for typical scenarios, which may suit your needs exactly, or become a frame work for what you need.  They may be a starting point, or we can build something from scratch - even if you're just spitballing the idea, lets chat.

My Day Rate

Half Day Rate

$400+HST
This covers assignments of up to 4 hours. Anything requiring more time on site will be charged the Full Day rate.

Day Rate

$650+HST
This covers assignments of up to 8 hours. Anything requiring more time on site will be charged an additional Half Day rate.  
These rates include the image processing required to turn the photos into the finished product you can be proud of, they take into account the importing and editing, formatting and exporting of files.  In very specific cases of extensive manipulation being required there may be additional costs but this would be CLEARLY COMMUNICATED TO YOU in advance, and only done if agreed upon beforehand.

Packages

In order to simplify, and make great photography more accessible I have created two affordable, custom packages.  These are designed to make getting great images easy and hassle free - the prices are all inclusive and you don't have to worry about any licensing limitations.  The packages outlined below take place of the standard day rate + licensing structure.

The Proprietor

$675+HST
This package aims to offer an affordable starter solution for the small business owner in need of top notch images for their website and promotional material.  Ideal for brick and mortar stores, salons, small diners and coffee shops, etc.
The package includes:
  • approximately 1-2 hours on site and TEN finished images: shots of your premises (a mix of interior and exterior shots as requested by you), an environmental portrait of the proprietor (that's basically you in your "natural element" - your business!) and a group shot of your staff. This is just a suggestion, make YOUR 10 images anything you like!
  • LICENSING: unlimited media, territory and duration.  Use the photos however you like, for as long as you like.  You will receive two sets, one optimized for WEB use, one OPTIMIZED for printing. Non-exclusive and non-transferrable.

The Artisan

$950+HST
This package is aimed at the craftsman or artist, looking for a simple and affordable way to access top notch photography for their website and promotional materials.  Ideal for anyone who crafts beautiful things and wants to show them to the world as well as help tell their story in pictures!
This package includes:
  • approximately 2-4 hours on site and TWENTY finished images: suggested images would be shots of your premises - your shop or studio, an environmental portrait of you in your "natural element",a group shot of your team - or if you're a one person show, you creating your work, and images of examples of your work.  Again, this is just a suggestion - you can make YOUR 20 images anything you like!
  • LICENSING: unlimited media, territory and duration.  Use the photos however you like, for as long as you like.  You will receive two sets, one optimized for WEB use, one OPTIMIZED for printing. Non-exclusive and non-transferrable

Our commitment

The images will be delivered electronically unless otherwise requested.  Each photo will be delivered in TWO formats: one optimized for WEB display, one optimized for PRINTING.  If you know of any special requirements such as specific file formats or colour space management (sometimes requested by high quality print houses), those adjustments will be made at no extra charge.

PHOTOS WILL BE DELIVERED WITHIN 3 BUSINESS DAYS OF COMPLETION OF SHOOT, EVERY TIME!(earlier if possible!)
